Karol Urban was challenged with recreating all vintage plane sounds in post for the Military Channel Series Showdown Air Combat.

Karol Urban nominated for “Mixer of the Year” at Discovery Channel

UAP’s Karol Urban has been nominated for “Mixer of the Year” at Discovery Channel’s own Discovery Arts and Sciences Post Production Awards. This is a special honor as nominations are made from direct peers who work with her studio at Discovery Communication’s Technology Center. Karol is also in contention for the “Man vs. Wild” Award (the project that succeeded despite the most challenging technical and time restraint hurdles) for her work on Koppel on Discovery – Iran: The Most Dangerous Nation, the “This Ain’t Radio Award” (best promo audio) for ETOC Portland, and The “Mythbuster Award” (most innovative work) for her theatrical trailer for Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom.
UAP Mixes Pilot for Root Branch Productions

Sound design and mix is completed for a 20 minute sitcom pilot, behind-the-scenes reel, and promo for a production called “The Circle” that was brought to us by a young promising production company, Root Branch Productions. The story explores the struggles of a conservative Senator from Oklahoma who unknowingly moves to Dupont Circle, DC’s gay district. “The Circle” uses comedy, witty puns and anecdotes to push the line between politics, religion and human rights. Over time, this unique cast of characters will evolve despite their opposing views as they learn from each other simply by living together. The Circle is currently entering festivals.

Sunaba/The Sandbox
premiered Sept 11, 2005 at the LA Shorts Fest held at the Arclight Cinemas. While we didn’t receive the gold, the interest of more than a few studios was received by director Kory Juul.
